UniFi
A UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber handles routing, security, and centralised network management. My U7 Pro XGS access point provides Wi-Fi 7 coverage across approximately 1,650 sq ft, positioned centrally to reach through concrete internal walls and powered by a dedicated 90W PoE injector.
UniFi brings client, traffic, and Wi-Fi monitoring into one place, with remote administration and Teleport VPN access when away. There is room to add UniFi Protect cameras and more PoE devices.
Synology NAS Setup
My Synology DiskStation DS1621+ doubles as an always-on home server. This 6-bay NAS runs on an AMD Ryzen V1500B, with roughly 31 TB of storage across multiple pools, disk redundancy, and 10GbE networking.
Alongside centralised storage and backups, it has hosted Homebridge, Synology Drive, and containers through Synology Container Manager, with SSH for administration. It also serves as a platform for experimenting with data-engineering workloads, including evaluating Airbyte in containers or virtual machines.
